For a hot summer day, cool meals are king. But to make the flatbread, a separate or summer kitchen is best because it bakes hot and for a long time.

Table d'hôte #5
The bartha and oatcakes combination rarely fails to surprise. The oatcakes are meant to be used like injera bread when eating Ethiopian curries. The coleslaw brings in the brightness and crunch.
LHSS Score 9.2 / 10
Starter - Coleslaw with Vinaigrette
Main - Split Pea and Greens Bartha
Side - Staffordshire Oatcakes
Dessert -

Table d'hôte #3
I found this by accident, with no idea I had ever saved it. I made this when Ben and I were first together, living in the West End, and I'd invited Barry over for dinner. The star of the meal was the Rotoli. The original recipe link I had saved was on a laptop that had been stolen when our apartment was robbed, and some 16 years later I am almost positive I managed to find the same recipe I'd used, after years of wondering and intermittent searching.
Starter - Cream of Cilantro Soup
Main - Chicken Parmesan
Side - Rotoli-di-pasta
Dessert - Berry Fool (look at Experimental)

Table d'hôte #1
Susan and Diyan came for dinner last Thursday and the menu I'd planned, well, in a rush, worked out really well. So well that I think it's reasonable to make this my first complete Table d'hôte.
Starter - A Summery Salad
Main - Herbed Chicken Saute with Tarragon and Parsley)
Side - Sauteed Asparagus
Dessert - Chocolate Pavement with Candied Ginger with Lavender Meringues
The combination was a success! I don't have the proper wine pairing for these, which will be coming at some point. See my entry on Working in Wine Country
